Motivation: Make three predictions about the year 2020.
Write a paragraph (6 sentences) explaing why you think this prediction will happen.
Mini-Lesson:

2. Readers use these details and events to make predictions about what will happen next in their books.
3. Readers can use sentences like

The class read “The Vendetta” (a class handout available from Mr. Wells) and students recorded what they “noticed,” “wondered” and “predicted” at various points in the text.

Students worked on revising their narrative essays and peer reviews of narrative essays for extra credit.
